The institute opened its doors on October 20, 1997, and quickly became one of the leading institutions in Lebanon. It occupies a building of approximately 5,000 square meters, situated on a 96,000-square-meter plot owned by the Mar Nahra Endowment in Kfar Aqqa, which is affiliated with the Archdiocese of Tripoli, Koura and their dependencies for the Greek Orthodox community. This initiative was funded by expatriate Fouad Atallah in memory of his son, Freddy, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Mexico at the age of twenty. The funds are managed by Mr. Najib Philippe Boulos, who personally oversees all phases of the project. Mr. Boulos has undertaken this mission with two primary objectives: First, to provide high-quality education at very low fees, ensuring that it does not burden students and their families. Second, to demonstrate that the success of any institution depends fundamentally on hiring based on merit and qualifications, rather than connections or other factors.
